Student socioeconomic assistance scholarships

The Scholarship and Socioeconomic Assistance Program is intended for students with limited financial resources, and for those who stand out for academic excellence or participate in certain areas of institutional interest. The purpose of this program is to help students during their course of studies until they graduate.

  • Socioeconomic Assistance Scholarships provide exemptions ranging from 25% to 100% of tuition every academic period. Scholarships are offered according to the following categories:

    • Scholarship 1: 25% exemption
    • Scholarship 2: 45% exemption
    • Scholarship 3: 60% exemption
    • Scholarship 4: 70% exemption
    • Scholarship 5: 80% exemption
    • Scholarship 6: 85% exemption
    • Scholarship 7: 90% exemption
    • Scholarship 8: 95% exemption
    • Scholarship 9: 97.5% exemption
    • Scholarship 10: 100% exemption
    • Scholarship 11: 100% exemption plus a monthly allowance

  • According to the category of scholarship granted, the student may enjoy additional benefits such as food, financial assistance for housing, transportation, book lending, dentistry and optometry services, loans to purchase equipment or materials and student residences.

  • The Stimulus Scholarship is awarded to students in an academic excellence condition, members of the institution’s artistic groups or sports teams, students with assigned student assistant hours or graduate assistant hours, students with grades equal or superior to 9 with a load of 15 credits or more per academic period, and UCR active workers. These services can be requested at the beginning of each academic period, according to the dates stipulated in the University Calendar. To obtain and enjoy a scholarship, the student must enroll a minimum of credits according to the Scholarship and Additional Benefits Award Regulations.
